Math4ALL Workshop at Saraswati Shishu Mandir School in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, India

“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.” – Albert Einstein

Our little champ Baani Ghai, a 4th class math++ student who bagged a gold medal at the state level in a National level Arithmetic competition shares a glimpse of her journey and experiences with us.

Dreams and passion always play a crucial role in the journey of success, be it in the case of children or adults. Often, we come across people who live up to the dreams that they have dreamt since their childhood and their belief that they could achieve anything in life is what keeps them going. Each one of us has special moments that are remembered for life and all the more reason to celebrate if it was during our childhood. Interest in sports, fine arts, storytelling, learning new languages, playing with numbers, etc. could lead us with flying colors. It is mostly during our school times when we find the motivation to do better, become better and reach great heights through great leaders like APJ Abdul Kalam, Sir Ramanujan, or Albert Einstein by reading their stories or listening to inspiring quotes.

One such inspiring story is of this 12 year’s kid who was passionate about storytelling and social media since her childhood, influenced by a simple quote “Creativity takes courage”.

Baani Ghai is known to be a child influencer, author, and ambassador to several brands. Her openness leads her to a new type of art which has set her sail across borders to being a star in several musical albums as well. She also believes It is important to be able to make friends with numbers to succeed academically and in a career.

Every single person on the planet can sometimes use encouragement from someone else, whether that form of encouragement comes from competition or a realization until they have an experience or a moment in their life that drives that passion out of them.

Math4ALL workshop

The students of grades 8,9 and 10 welcomed us with warm smiles and greetings. This workshop was the first time many of these kids had attended, but they seemed excited to learn, as evidenced by their bright eyes and open enthusiasm. The kids loved the way they were being taught which started from the basics of concept explanation aided by interactive experiences of math and its real-time application shared with them. The response from the students was overwhelming as they responded very favorably to the fun learning environment and the interactive session while practicing problem-solving.

As part of the Workshop, Our Math Educator showcased the art of quick multiplication where students were taught easy methods to build multiplication tables faster by highlighting the patterns and logic. Furthermore, Our trainers have shown how to make algebra easy and interesting by explaining a few concepts that the children perceived to be difficult. Our approach was well-received by the students, who were attentive and showed great interest. In addition to this,  there were lively discussions that took place on what every kid aspires to become and expressed their desires as part of the 3-hour workshop.

“The Teachings shared throughout the workshop have made the whole learning process much more enjoyable for them. Practicing problem-solving with such an enthusiastic and motivated team was truly a great experience” –   were the kind words received by  Smt. Janaki Ramachandra (Principal) in response to the workshop conducted.

It is clear that math is an essential part of a student’s education, both in terms of their future success and in developing important life skills. With the right approach, math can be interesting and enjoyable for students at all levels. We believe that every child should understand the beauty of mathematics and hone the necessary skills to be a new-age problem solver. We envision that our ways of teaching Math help conquer the fear of it and make the child ready to unlock a doorway of sciences and technology that dictates the change of our tomorrow.
